  5.    Like the sidekicks of the old West after whom it is named,
  6.    Borland's Sidekick is a "faithful companion"...always ready to
  7.    help when needed; yet, never in the way.  Now that you've
  8.    booted it up, you'll get to see for yourself just how powerful
  9.    an ally you've got.
  10.  
  11.    You're now viewing the notepad....although it's much more than
  12.    just a space on the screen to make notes.  You can perform
  13.    global searches, pull text from another file... or even import
  14.    data directly from the screen of the software you were using
  15.    before you "called up" Sidekick and then "paste" that data
  16.    into another application program.  You can automatically time
  17.    and date stamp your notes...and then save them. Sidekick
  18.    allows you to mark a block of text and move it, copy it,
  19.    delete it, write it to another file, or even sort it!

  21.    You can also easily activate any Sidekick window from within
  22.    any other.

  24.    Here's a quick example of how this works.  At the moment,
  25.    you're viewing the notepad. Suppose you suddenly needed the
  26.    calculator.  Just  press <Alt-C>. Your calculator is ready and
  27.    at your service.

  29.    Need the calendar? <Alt-L> will bring it right up.  Now, you
  30.    have  the notepad, calculator and calendar on-screen at the
  31.    same time.

  33.    To return to the Notepad, just press <Esc> twice, and you'll
  34.    see  the other two windows vanish.

  36.    If you need a hand at any time, Sidekick has an on-line help
  37.    system, geared to give you information on whatever Sidekick
  38.    window you're working within.  Just press function key <F1>.
